Fight for Hope Gameday and cook out

We are pleased to announce our next event in our Fight for Hope series, Fight for Hope Gameday! Here are the details:

When: September 3rd, 2011 starting at noon. The cookout will begin around 5 or 6 pm.

Where: 413 Shelby Lane, Bristol TN. Directions are at the bottom.

Games and competitions:

Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2v2 team tournament

Street Fighter III: Third Strike

Magic the Gathering

Marvel vs. Capcom 3

And many more. The focus of this gathering wont be so much on the tournament as giving you an opportunity to chill with your friends while playing your favorite game. Basically if you want to play something, bring it along and we will! This goes for video games as well as board games.

Cost: General entry is 10 dollars per person. All proceeds are going to Habitat for Humanity. If everyone wants to agree on a tournament with an entry fee that money will be divided amongst the winners.

Prizes: Additional prizes will be announced soon. We will try to have trophies for the tournament winners like before, but we'll let you know for sure in a later post.

Take interstate I-81 and get off of exit 3.

Stay going straight on Commonwealth ave. It will eventually become Volunteer Parkway.

Before reaching Big Lots you should see a large BB&T building on your right. The left turn onto Shelby Lane is almost directly in front of the BB&T. Go up the hill and it'll be the first house on your left. You should see a lot of cars already parked in the yard, please park in the grass near the other cars.

The Final Round is tonight!

The final tournament round of season 1 is tonight! We will begin the tournament as soon as we can after 9pm. The destination is still The Lair (Troy's house).

If you need directions please send us a message. Tonight a champion will be crowned!

Bonham rd Fight Club season finale

It's time for the final battle!

This Saturday will be the final tournament of the 2010 fight club season. Meet at 8pm at "The Lair", hosted for us by Troy Bowers. If you do not know how to get to Troy Bowers' house please send me and email and we can get you directions or an alternate meeting location.

Be sure to bring the snacks and beverages of your choice. The rules for this location are as follows:

1. No smoking in the house, please use the car port and the porch as smoking areas.
2. Park in the grass to the right of the driveway. Use any door to enter.
3. BYOB please!

Further house rules may be established as we arrive. If anything changes about the destination itself we will let you know well in advance.

Fight Club Round 4 details

This Saturday will be the 4th tournament of the 2010 Fight club season. I'll try to have many more stations running so we should be able to get through a few games this time (hopefully anyway, but we'll still have a good time none the less.)

Everyone meet at 8pm at The Dojo (Ryan Blevins' house). Park your cars in the front yard or pull around to the back, but please do not block the entrance of the driveway so more cars can arrive/leave.

Be sure to bring the beverages and snacks of your choice. The rules for this location are as follows:

1. No smoking up stairs, please go out on the front porch as it can become stuffy quickly with people smoking. You can smoke downstairs if you like, provided the door to the outside remains open.
2. If a cat follows you inside, please grab it and put it back outside.
3. Don't forget your snacks and beverages!

Further house rules may be established as we arrive. Check the blog here or facebook often in case the destination changes, but you should be notified in advance if anything is different.

Fight Club Round 3 details

This Saturday will be the third tournament series of this season. The opening game will be Super Street Fighter IV, running alongside Tekken 6: BR. If time allows we will do a Soul Calibur IV team tournament.

We will be meeting at the Krystal Burger on Euclid Ave at 8pm. Once everyone is there we will leave for the next destination, "Allyson's Place", hosted for us by Travis Fulwider. Please plan on carpooling to the location or offering your vehicle for carpool as parking will be limited at the apartment complex. If you do not know where Krystal Burger is in Bristol please email me or leave a comment here and I will provide address and directions.

Be sure to bring the snacks and beverages of your choice. The rules for this location are as follows:

1. No smoking indoors, please step out to the back yard for this.
2. Please enter the apartment quickly and DO NOT hold the door open for very long as the cat and dog could try to escape.
3. The Noise level can't get extreme as we will be close to other residents. You can get excited, just no flat out screaming.
4. Dont forget snacks and beverages!

Fight club round 2 details

This Saturday will mark the second tournament series of this season. The opening game will be Super Street Fighter IV, followed by Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for Wii as the sub game.

We will be meeting in the halloween section of Big Lots on the parkway at 8pm. Once everyone is there we will leave for the next destination, "The Lair", hosted for us by Troy Bowers. If you do not know where Big Lots is in Bristol please email me or leave a comment here and I will provide address and directions.

Be sure to bring the snacks and beverages of your choice. The rules for this location are as follows:

1. No smoking in the house, please use the car port and the porch as smoking areas.

First fight club meeting details confirmed

We will be meeting at Perkins on exit 7 at 8pm for dinner and to make sure everyone understands the rules about the games and season play.

After dinner we will be leaving for the first tournament destination, Ryan "PapaRyu" Blevins, aka FistoftheWind's house, aka the dojo.

As per the standard, the first game will be Super Street Fighter IV, followed promptly by a random sub game chosen with the "name in a hat" method.

Be sure to bring beverages and snacks of your choice. Alcohol and smoking are allowed at this destination. Further house rules will be established when we arrive.
